I pursue creative approaches to build on theories of the policy process and public management, and to develop new knowledge for real-world problem solving. My research focuses on collaboration, representation, and cognition to address water and energy governance challenges.
My research is dedicated to improving understanding of climate adaptation, to navigating the uncertainty and complexity of planning, and to informing policy innovation. I address key puzzles by employing inferential social network analysis, linear modeling, and automated text analysis. Through these efforts, I seek to reduce vulnerability in natural and human systems.
